Why should I join the Gouritsmond Ratepayers Association (GMBBV)?

  1. The GMBBV shares all relevant information handled by the organisation, directly with members via the WhatsApp group, email, and the Die Kiewiet newsletter. This includes important communication from Hessequa Municipality, ongoing projects, key meetings, and decisions.

  2. A growing and representative membership base is essential when engaging with the municipality. It strengthens our ability to present the town’s concerns, needs, and requests, and demonstrates unified community support.

  3. We represent the community at municipal level on various forums, including the ward committee, technical meetings, IDP (Integrated Development Plan), and budget meetings.

  4. Membership fees are used for smaller projects that benefit the entire community, visitors, and the environment. Projects with major financial implications are first communicated to members before any funds are allocated.

Help Us Grow

We kindly encourage all members to help grow our membership by sharing information with neighbours and friends. A stronger membership base improves representation with authorities and enhances our ability to fund and implement essential community projects.
